World Kidney Day 2013 - join us to raise awareness of the important role that kidneys play

i heart my kidneys

World Kidney Day's (WKD) aim is to raise awareness of the importance of the kidneys to the overall health of the population and to reduce the frequency and impact of kidney disease and its associated health problems worldwide. WKD is a joint initiative of the International Society of Nephrology (ISN) and the International Federation of Kidney Foundations (IFKF).

Following the success of our 2012 World Kidney Day awareness campaign, led by employees from Fresenius Medical Care Australia, 2013 will again mark the year for our involvement to help communicate this important cause to the public.

We will set up eye-catching awareness booths in different highly frequented public locations, e.g. shopping malls of office buildings where our staff then will focus on engaging with and educating the public about the importance of the kidneys and how to maintain good kidney health. We will provide interactive communication materials, as well as offer free blood pressure measurements for everybody conducted by our professional nurses.

Meet and support our Fresenius Medical Care Australia staff on World Kidney Day in multiple locations around the country as they talk to the public about their healthy kidneys.

We will update our website with information about our detailed planned activities for 2013 prior to the next World Kidney Day on the 14th March 2013. We are looking forward to meeting you then and seeing your support on the day.
